The MacNamara Clan Association of Ireland hosted a gathering of MacNamaras (and McNamaras) from all over the world in County Clare, Ireland in May 2002.  The Clan Gathering consisted of historical lectures, a concert featuring MacNamara performers, and guided tours to sites of historical and cultural interest in County Clare.

An article I wrote about the MacNamara Clan Gathering has just been published in the August/September issue of Irish America magazine.  The magazine is available on newsstands in major American cities, and has a web site which is available by subscription only.  A teaser for the article can be seen on the magazine's site.

On this site will be information about the MacNamara Clan Gathering, along with photographs and news about the McNamara Clan Association of Ireland.

The site is very much a work in progress, but some pages can already be viewed by clicking on the links below.

As the builders of Quin Abbey, the MacNamara family has enjoyed a noteworthy historical association with the Franciscan Order.  The current head of the Franciscans wrote a letter expressing good wishes on the occasion on the Clan Gathering in May 2002.
